To help lower costs for high school students, several classrooms offer classroom sets of learning materials available to those scheduled through their high school Skyward schedule. Additionally, Tooele Tech offers a High School Digital Book Scholarship, available to high school students in the TCSD, which covers select digital book subscriptions for specified programs. Other scholarships may become available during a student’s enrollment. Students can apply for available scholarships at any time throughout their enrollment.
Generally, students should be 16 years old or a junior. Students can schedule Tooele Tech programs through their high school schedule during Arena scheduling or through their high school counselor. Scheduling for Tooele Tech programs is offered in a 2-period, block schedule. Students can choose to enroll in more than one block period for the same program, if applicable. Due to the rigorous nature of the college-level curriculum for each program, it is recommended that students do not self-register for more than one Tooele Tech program at the same time.
Students who want to make changes to their high school schedule in Skyward need to work directly with their high school counselor. Changes to your Skyward schedule may impact access to your program of interest based on available space. Students wanting to add additional scheduled hours outside of their high school schedule need to work with a Tooele Tech enrollment specialist.
Tooele Tech uses a competency-based education system, allowing students to advance by demonstrating proficiency in concepts and skills, regardless of time, place, or pace. High school grades are determined by attendance, competency level, and progress rate. To earn an “A,” students should complete at least two college credits per semester or approximately 70 competency hours. Note that grades do not reflect overall program progress or certification.
In a competency-based education system, it is not a guarantee that you will complete your program before you graduate high school. It is important to understand the credit hours required for your program, set goals, and monitor your progress. Students can schedule hours outside their high school schedule or during the summer to help complete their program. Students can also continue their enrollment after graduation. Upon graduation, tuition will no longer be waived. However, Tooele Tech offers options for financial aid and scholarships to help cover costs.

See the front desk if you don鈥檛 receive your ID badge or need a new one.
